West Linton & District Historical Association is the custodian and facilitator of the Village Archive. This is an assemblage of photographs, documents and artefacts which have been collected and stored from items donated by members of the local communities.
The Village Archive is kept to archival standards in secure storage in the Village Centre in Raemartin Square. It is used by members of the Association for research and is available to the public by arrangement with the Secretary and on view on Mondays between 10:30 am and 12:30 pm.
Regular work sessions on Monday mornings from 10:30 to 12:30 are undertaken by members of the Association under professional guidance to catalogue, index and store the various items. Materials include photographs, slides, documents, newspaper cuttings, maps and books. The current project is the scanning of over 1500 slides from the collection.
The Association is keen to add to the Village Archive and would be grateful for donations of items of local or family interest. If requested these can be copied and the originals returned to the donor.
